AIM WA International boasts over a decade of experience delivering training internationally, and has developed a longstanding reputation for delivering proven performance improvement to companies and individuals around the world.

An important aspect of our success internationally is the partnerships we have fostered with individual business development consultants and organisations in selected focus countries.

This section provides select examples of our experience in some of our major offshore markets, as well as our partners.

  • Africa

Western Australia’s continued strong investment in Africa has led to a growing opportunity for bilateral cooperation. Our community is now in a unique position to share local expertise with governments, companies and communities across Africa to ensure ethical and effective management in a time of rapid continental growth and development.

Many of the world’s largest gold producers invested in Africa are Corporate Members of AIM Western Australia, and we work with them both in Australia and offshore to plan and implement leadership development training programs. Programs include project and contract management, stakeholder engagement, and corporate social responsibility programs geared for diverse and complex communities.

We have also delivered training for Australian companies investing in Greenfield and Brownfield projects throughout Africa, delivering front line management and combined programs to teams involved in managing the exploration, development, and production elements of projects along with the wider risk management processes these initiatives entail.

  • China

Ongoing bilateral trade and investment between Australia and China has forged strong relationships between our nations. AIM WA International has developed a number of connections in helping to facilitate ongoing leadership exchange and cooperation. This is now extending globally with partnerships between Australian and Chinese organisations to explore opportunities in other international markets.

We regularly host groups from Chinese government and leading private industry bodies, particularly in the oil and gas sector, in which one of AIM WA International’s key clients is responsible for some of the largest offshore exploration and production projects in the world. Part of our role in hosting these visitors has included site tours, leadership development programs in conjunction with The University of Western Australia Business School, and the provision of benefits including access to bilateral mentoring programs for Chinese business leaders.

AIM WA International is also active in an outbound sense by creating opportunities for Australia-based leaders to build their understanding and expertise of Chinese business and leadership via the Global Leaders Program China. This program is delivered in conjunction with the Australian Chamber of Commerce (AustCham) Shanghai, and represents an ongoing commitment to developing understanding and leadership exchange between Australia and its biggest trade partner. The AustCham and AIM WA International partnership will also implement selected leadership and management programs to the AustCham Shanghai member-base.

  • India

AIM WA International maintains a strong presence in India in conjunction with our local partner, Australian Vocational Training and Employment Group (AVTEG). We deliver a range of skills development programs to help leading multinational and Australian organisations ensure they get the best from their leaders and build competitiveness through best practice leadership on the world stage.

One of our most successful programs in India has been People Management Skills, which has been delivered to senior managers from some of the country’s leading agriculture and consulting organisations. Feedback from participants has consistently emphasised the value of gaining real world skills and unique global insight that is immediately applicable to the workplace.

We are also delivering highly specialised training in the area of contract relationship management for the Indian arm of a major international media relations organisation. After our client's exhaustive international search for a training provider, our services were requested due to our solid experience in this field. AIM WA International understands the need for companies to successfully manage their contract negotiations and in doing so, simultaneously minimise risk, and maximise efficiency in dealing with buyers and suppliers. We will initially deliver a customised program for application to pharmaceutical industry leaders managing contract relations in India, with the prospect of future expansion.

Training for clients in these areas has been delivered both in Indonesia and in Australia.

AIM Western Australia remains an active advocate for the promotion of Australian training offshore through participation in expos such as Ozmine in Jakarta, and by hosting incoming groups, including senior government delegations to our campus in Perth, Western Australia.
