Differentiated Learning and Multi-Level Task Design
CLS classrooms can be very diverse with learners having very different levels of language competence. This poses a significant challenge for teachers. The purpose of this workshop is to help teachers accommodate this diversity so that all students can make meaningful progress in the language. Participants will learn how to design tasks that are multileveled. There will be a focus on how to use the same text with learners at different levels, and how to adjust tasks to make them easier or more challenging. The techniques and strategies explored are not complicated and should have direct relevance for CLS schools and teachers.
Prior to attending this you must have already attended the following workshops:
- ‘Tell Me Now; Show Me How. How to be a good language teacher’
- ‘Understanding Text and Task?’ and
- ‘Task Design’
