Disruption By Design
Two decades ago, when Harvard scholar Clayton (“Clay”) Christensen wrote the book “The Innovator’s Dilemma”, he coined the term “disruptive innovation”. Over time, many people have abbreviated this to just “disruption”, but that’s dangerous!
Few people think of innovation when they hear the word “disruption”, but innovation and disruption are two sides of the same coin. Disruption is when change happens to you, innovation is when you lead the change yourself.
Innovate from the inside out. Disrupt yourself, but in a positive, progressive way that positions you better for the change happening in the world. This is everybody’s business now, and the best organisations and teams foster a culture of ongoing innovation.
Key messages explored during the session:
• Foster a culture of innovation in your team
• Engage clients and customers in innovation and change
• Make time for innovation in a busy workplace
