Unique Student Identifier (USI) Mandatory since 1 January 2015

Since the 1st of January 2015, all students undertaking Nationally Recognised training in Australia need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Once you have your USI, you can use it throughout your life, to keep a centralised online record of all your Nationally Recognised training. Whether you're studying at TAFE, a private training organisation, completing a certificate or diploma course, apprenticeship or skill set - you'll need a USI.

Prerequisites

This qualification is suitable for individuals working in a range of human resources management positions. Job roles could include human resources assistants, human resources coordinators, human resources administrators and payroll officers.

What Is Required to Gain the Qualification

Attendance on the training programs and successful completion of the assessment requirements. Each assessment consists of 4 components;

  1. Knowledge Evidence. A set of questions designed to show your underpinning knowledge
  2. Workplace Evidence. Evidence from your workplace that shows that you consistently perform certain tasks in the workplace
  3. Personal Statement. This allows you to map your own experience to the requirements of the unit. It combines your knowledge and workplace evidence in one statement
  4. Third Party Report. You complete this report in relation to tasks you complete in the workplace. Your manager must sign it off as true and accurate.

All participants are required to complete a self-assessment questionnaire in relation to each unit of competence. This allows the prospective participant to determine which pathway best suits their learning journey towards the qualification. The outcomes of the survey will also help the RTO to identify the participant’s ability to successfully undertake the qualification and the suitability of the pathway chosen.

Participants have up to 2 years to complete the training and assessment requirements of the qualification. This time frame will vary for each individual depending on their existing level of skills and knowledge and their ability to attend the training program/s.

AIM WA recommends regular attendance on the free monthly Qualification Support Workshops while completing the assessment requirements.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for all or part of this qualification.  Please refer to the Enrolment Kit for details or details on the website on the RPL process.
