  • Problem definition and identification: Scoping out specifically what the problem is and what it isn’t, challenge constraints and select the best thinking approach
  • Tools for problem framing: Learn how to utilise root cause identification tools such as fishbone diagrams, the ‘five-why’s’ and pareto diagram analysis
  • Key components of a critical thinking framework: Work through a critical thinking framework applying the tools of analysis and identification
  • Identify and overcome assumptions and cognitive biases: Review the concepts of paradigms and biases and how they can influence your problem frame, also the skills of questioning and listening
  • The role of questioning in critical thinking: Work through a Socratic questioning framework ensuring that the right questions are asked to allow for accurate data capture and problem analysis
  • Creative problem-solving techniques: Become immersed in a range of creative thinking tools that include six thinking hats, brainstorming and problem reversal technique
  • Decision-making models and tools: Analyse and implement a range of solutions generation models, including ethical and values-based frameworks
  • Prioritise and turn ideas into solutions: Work through techniques to minimise the barriers to effective decision making and adopting a change management approach.
