Beediyar (‘brid-ee-yah'), the Noongar word for 'leader' is AIM WA’s landmark executive development program for First Nations managers and leaders. It aims to fast-track First Nations professionals into executive roles across all sectors, fostering a new generation of CEOs, directors and senior executives.
Rooted in the lived experiences and aspirations of First Nations professionals, Beediyar supports participants to grow in confidence, strengthen cultural connection and develop strategic leadership capability.
The program fosters cultural safety, peer connection and access to respected leaders, personalised coaching and global leadership insights, empowering each participant to carve a unique pathway into executive leadership.
Sponsorship
A not-for-profit leader in professional learning and workplace training, AIM WA is proud to work with aligned organisations who share the same vision for Western Australia - a state where First Nations leadership truly thrives. And that means creating opportunities for First Nations professionals to develop their executive skills, inner confidence and professional networks, in a culturally safe environment, empowering them to step into senior leadership, C-suite and director roles.
By 2030, the vision for Beediyar is an Alumni of 100+ First Nations executive leaders across all sectors taking their seat at decision-making tables. If your organisation shares this vision, we invite you to invest in places on the Beediyar program in 2027. Sponsor high-potential employees through Beediyar as an extension of your talent development pathways, support scholarship places for applicants through your community investment activities; or do both to help strengthen First Nations executive capability and impact across Western Australia.

Although many organisations have made progress with First Nations recruitment and employment strategies, barriers still exist that prevent Indigenous employees from moving into senior management roles. In fact, "Indigenous employees are almost entirely absent from senior management and executive leadership levels." *

In ‘Paving the way for First Nations leaders’ sponsors and members of the Beediyar steering group outline the vital need for this groundbreaking program to increase Indigenous leadership representation around executive tables and in boardrooms in Western Australia.
The Beediyar program engages with a steering group of First Nations leaders and Elders to provide guidance on program design, delivery, cultural considerations and inclusivity, while supporting participants throughout the program.
A representative from each participant's organisation is invited to be part of an Advisory Group to have oversight of the program and support participants to apply learning back in their workplaces.
By sponsoring the Beediyar program, you are contributing to the career acceleration of First Nations leaders across Western Australia. Your support helps to elevate Indigenous voices in workplaces and increases First Nations representation around the leadership table in organisations of all size and sector.
