As the Chief Learning and Development Officer (CLDO) at the Australian Institute of Management Western Australia, Drew leads the ongoing design, development, and review of the organisation's education and training solutions for a diverse range of clients. As a proven and skilled leader, executive coach, consultant, and facilitator in his own right, he blends both one-on-one learning expertise with the strategic insights required to bring about sustained organisation-wide change.

Drew practices what he preaches as a voracious lifelong learner. He has completed five degrees and holds multiple certifications in organisational and executive coaching, technology integration, and music production. Having recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at James Cook University, he is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Curtin University Graduate School of Business.

His talents and expertise were recognised in 2023 when he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to investigate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance teaching and learning effectiveness, seeking to address challenges in the Australian education and training landscape, including teacher shortages, educational equity in remote areas and learning effectiveness.

AI as a Thinking Partner: Smarter Leadership in a Changing World

AI is everywhere—but what does it actually mean for leaders, managers, and supervisors in workplaces like ours? For many, it’s surrounded by uncertainty and myth. Some see it as a threat, others as a gimmick. The truth? AI is a tool—one that can help leaders think better, not replace them.

In this engaging and down-to-earth session, we’ll break through the hype and explore AI as a thinking partner—a practical way to sharpen decision-making, cut through complexity, and free up time for what really matters. Whether you're leading a business, a team or a community organisation, AI can help you make more informed, thoughtful decisions—without the tech jargon or the fear factor.
