Our core purpose
AIM WA plays an essential role in addressing Western Australia’s skills challenges across all sectors, from corporate to Government and not-for-profits (NFPs). We do this by delivering a comprehensive suite of high-impact workplace training, including leadership, management and soft skills courses, along with professional development conferences, events and services for our members and clients.
And, as a not-for-profit and an education charity, we reinvest all our resources into improving workplaces. This helps to shape the success of organisations, improve the professional environment and personal wellbeing of Western Australians, and helps to ensure the future economic prosperity of the state.
Supporting equity, diversity and inclusion
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in programs like BEEDIYAR – a unique executive development program for First Nations leaders and our Women in Leadership courses, which empower and develop typically underrepresented groups within WA’s leadership. These programs align with the broader social equity and inclusion goals of organisations across WA.
Advancing workplace health, safety and wellbeing
Workplace health and safety (WHS) and employee wellbeing are vital for building resilient organisations, especially in high-demand sectors such as health, and mining and resources, where wellbeing and mental health challenges can be prevalent. AIM WA’s training extends beyond physical safety to include mental health initiatives, helping organisations build a safe, supportive and sustainable workplace culture.
Building capacity in other Not-for-Profits (NFPs) and charities
While AIM WA’s training courses serve the needs of WA’s cross-sectoral workforce, from soft skills to executive leadership development, our support for NFPs and charities is also a cornerstone of our social impact. Scarce resources often mean these organisations have to prioritise essential service delivery over staff training and development. Recognising this challenge, AIM WA reinvests up to $1million of in-kind training support annually to empower other NFPs and charities to access critical leadership and skills development programs. This commitment ensures these organisations build resilience and adaptability, enhancing their ability to serve WA’s most vulnerable communities.
Creating lasting social and economic impact in Western Australia
AIM WA’s social impact extends across many industries and regions of Western Australia, strengthening the WA economy by equipping professionals and organisations with the skills needed to succeed. By fostering better workplaces, AIM WA helps organisations of all types develop strong leadership, build resilience, improve productivity and create inclusive, supportive environments.
Working with AIM WA represents an investment in a stronger, more diverse and economically resilient state. Our mission to inspire and develop better workplaces is essential to the future of WA, creating lasting social and economic value for all Western Australians.
