The missing year, closed

There is a gap between graduation and being genuinely ready for work. Universities and TAFEs develop capable graduates. Employers teach role specific skills. Workplace Ready teaches everything else, the workplace mindset and behaviour that usually falls to already stretched managers to cover.

Most organisations feel the effect months into a new hire’s first role, when technical knowledge has not yet translated into workplace capability. We call this the missing year, the gap between graduation and genuine professional success.

Workplace Ready does the heavy lifting, so the workplace foundations get taught properly, and your managers get their time back.

Young people often arrive enthusiastic and capable, yet unprepared for the realities of professional life. Much of that comes down to basics no one formally teaches, including workplace communication, navigating expectations, receiving feedback, building professional networks, managing competing priorities and contributing effectively in a team. Most absorb these by observation, usually after getting one or two things wrong first.

Organisations invest significant time and resources recruiting talent, only to find that the transition from education to employment is often the hardest stage of a young professional’s career.

Workplace Ready gives organisations a reliable way to accelerate early career hires and bring new talent up to speed on expectations, etiquette and behaviour. Graduates get the grounding that turns early promise into early contribution.

What to expect

Workplace Ready runs as a 5-day structured program, not a single course. It brings together expert led masterclasses, psychometric profiling, mentoring, exposure to leadership thinking and guided reflection, delivered across a series of sessions rather than one off events.

Every element is practical. Your graduates and new starters leave each session with something they can apply immediately, from communication and workplace etiquette to understanding their own strengths and working style.

They will engage with mentors who offer a broader perspective and take part in guided reflection throughout the week. That reflection builds genuine self-awareness for them, and genuine visibility for you.

Why organisations choose Workplace Ready

As an organisation, Workplace Ready gives your graduate and early career cohort a shared foundation. Their workplace readiness stops depending on which manager or team they happen to land with, and you get a consistent standard across every new starter you bring in.

If you are a line manager with a recent graduate or new starter on your team, this program does the groundwork that usually takes a year of trial and error and does it deliberately instead of by accident. You spend less time managing avoidable mistakes and more time managing actual performance.

Graduates and new starters benefit too. For them, this is an opportunity to build the confidence, capability and workplace awareness that help them find their feet faster and contribute sooner, without your team carrying the cost of that learning curve.

The return on
Return on
early investment

For organisations, giving early career talent the skills, mindset and networks to succeed from day one is an investment in stronger retention, faster contribution and a better foundation for the talent pipeline you build next.

Early career starters who arrive with genuine workplace awareness are more likely to self-correct and learn faster from their mistakes, freeing up more of their manager’s time for actual performance.

That return compounds over time. An early career starter that starts strong tends to stay longer, take on responsibility sooner and become the kind of early career talent other graduates want to follow into your organisation.

For graduates and early career starters, Workplace Ready is a chance to arrive at their career with a head start, not a learning curve

Frequently Asked Questions

Workplace Ready is designed for graduates and newly hired young people, and for the organisations bringing them on board. It works best in the first months of employment, when workplace habits and confidence are still forming.

The program runs across five days, working through PRINT profiling, employer expectations, career alignment, intergenerational communication, emotional intelligence, AI in the workplace, networking, digital footprint, feedback, mindfulness, mental resilience, personal brand, professional presentation and storytelling.

Onboarding covers policies, systems and role specific training. Workplace Ready covers what onboarding usually misses, the workplace judgement, confidence and behaviour that determine whether a new hire settles in well or struggles quietly for months.

The program runs across five structured days.

PRINT is a psychometric diagnostic designed to help participants understand the unconscious motivators that influence how they respond, communicate and lead during transition.
