A contract is only as good as the way it is managed. This qualification is for people in a range of business roles who may have frontline management responsibilities. At this level, you apply a sound theoretical knowledge base and a range of specialised, technical or management skills to plan, carry out and evaluate your own work or the work of a team. The procurement specialisation focuses on planning, managing and finalising contracts and procurement, including the legal and risk elements involved.
This qualification is offered via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) only; it does not include training and resources.
Pricing
The RPL fee covers assessment of your existing skills and knowledge. If gaps are identified, we will tell you about any extra costs before you enrol.
Already managing contracts, suppliers or procurement? This qualification caters to a wide range of professionals seeking formal recognition for the contract management skills they use every day.
It is designed for:
RPL suits contract managers, contract officers and procurement professionals who want their skills, experience and previous training recognised without repeating learning they have already done. It is likely to be right for you if you:
There are no formal entry, licensing or certification requirements for BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Procurement). Before you enrol, an AIMWA assessor will review your experience, skills and access to evidence to confirm whether RPL suits you.

| At least two years of relevant experience | Existing industry skills and knowledge |

Your RPL assessment has three parts. Together, they help your assessor confirm that you have the knowledge, practical capability and workplace evidence the qualification requires.
The example below shows how these three parts may work together for one assessment requirement.

Describe the procurement policies, practices and approval processes you follow in your organisation. |
Using a real workplace example, describe how you identified contract risks and developed a risk management plan. Explain how you identified, received and addressed contract variations, and how you investigated, resolved or referred any disputes or complaints. |
Upload workplace evidence showing that you have developed a contract management plan and relevant sub-plans. Evidence may include the contract management plan, associated sub-plans, meeting minutes or notes, and emails that demonstrate your involvement in developing the plan. |
Working with confidential evidence. You can redact names, contact details and other identifying information, as long as the evidence still shows your work. Make sure you have permission to share workplace documents. If confidentiality rules stop you providing evidence, talk to us before you enrol so we can consider alternatives.
You complete your assessment online through our learner portal, at your own pace and around your work. Enrolments are rolling, so you can start once your enrolment is confirmed and you have portal access. Self-paced still takes discipline. Setting aside regular time will help you finish within your enrolment period.
Your assessor reviews your evidence and gives feedback or asks for more information as needed. You can submit evidence up to three times for each unit, and this is included in your assessment fee.
AIMWA (RTO Code 0058) offers this qualification directly. We do not use third parties for recruitment, delivery or assessment.
You have 12 months to complete your assessment. As a guide, most participants spend several hours over one to three weeks per unit gathering evidence and answering knowledge questions. It can be quicker if your evidence is already organised, and slower if you need documents from employers or third parties.
In the event you are unable to complete the requirements within the 12 months, you may have the option to extend or re-enrol (conditions apply - see our RTO Schedule of Fees and Charges).
