What to expect

While Claude can support a wide range of professional tasks, useful results depend on how well you brief it, refine its outputs and check what it produces.

AI tools can sound confident while being inaccurate or wrong, so human judgement, privacy awareness and verification remain essential.

In this course, you will learn how Claude works, where it can fail and how to use it more effectively in day-to-day work.

You will practise writing prompts, improving outputs through conversation, working with documents and applying responsible AI principles.

You will also build a practical Claude solution for a work-related use case.

Is this course for you

This course is for professionals, managers and team members who want to build practical confidence using Claude at work. It is suitable for non-technical users and does not require a background in AI, data science or technology.

What to bring

This is a hands-on course, so there are a few things you will need to bring along:

  • A laptop or tablet with a keyboard
  • Active access to a Claude account at one of these subscription levels:
    • Claude Pro (personal)
    • Claude Team or Enterprise (recommended)
  • Two work samples relevant to your role that you are comfortable uploading into Claude. For example a written communication, a process document or a project overview.
  • Bringing your own device lets you apply the learning to real work, so you leave with practical outputs you can use straight away.

A Team or Enterprise subscription is strongly recommended, as it unlocks the Projects, Design and Artifacts features used throughout this course. If you are attending with a Claude Pro (personal) account, please make sure all sensitive data is anonymised before you enter it.

A note on usage limits: The hands-on activities in this session are designed to make meaningful use of Claude's capabilities and will draw on your account's token allowance - the usage quota that governs how much you can interact with Claude within a given period.

Participants on a Claude Pro account should be aware that the session's activities are designed around approximately 50% of a Pro account's daily token allowance. To ensure your ability to participate fully, we recommend avoiding token-intensive tasks in Claude on the day of the session - particularly before and during training hours.

Please note: Some organisations apply security or access restrictions to AI tools that may limit certain features covered in this session. If your organisation has such policies in place, some activities may not be fully accessible to you. We encourage you to check with your IT team before attending. AIM WA is not responsible for access limitations arising from organisational IT policies.
