At this level, you are responsible for a defined area of project work. You use a broad knowledge base to solve a defined range of unpredictable problems, and you may provide guidance to others, with some limited responsibility for their output.
.
This qualification is offered via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) only; it does not include training and resources.
Pricing
The RPL fee covers assessment of your existing skills and knowledge. If gaps are identified, we will tell you about any extra costs before you enrol.
*The Project Manager price is the total assessment fee. You need to apply to enrol within 12 months of attending the 'The Project Manager' program.
Already helping projects run on time and on budget? This qualification caters to a wide range of professionals seeking formal recognition for the project skills they use every day.
It is designed for:
RPL suits project team members, project officers and project coordinators who want their skills, experience and previous training recognised without repeating learning they have already done.
RPL is right for you if you:
There are no formal entry, licensing or certification requirements for BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice. Before you enrol, an AIMWA assessor will review your experience, skills and access to evidence to confirm whether RPL suits you.

List the key components of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and explain how a WBS supports effective project planning and control. |
Using a real workplace example, describe how you maintained a project schedule, including how you monitored progress, recorded changes and reported activities against the agreed schedule. |
Upload workplace evidence showing that you have created project schedules for at least two different projects. Your evidence must include a list of tasks, deliverable milestones and time estimates. |
Working with confidential evidence. You can redact names, contact details and other identifying information, as long as the evidence still shows your work. Make sure you have permission to share workplace documents. If confidentiality rules stop you providing evidence, talk to us before you enrol so we can consider alternatives.
You complete your assessment online through our learner portal, at your own pace and around your work. Enrolments are rolling, so you can start once your enrolment is confirmed and you have portal access. Self-paced still takes discipline. Setting aside regular time will help you finish within your enrolment period.
Your assessor reviews your evidence and gives feedback or asks for more information as needed. You can submit evidence up to three times for each unit, and this is included in your assessment fee.
AIMWA (RTO Code 0058) offers this qualification directly. We do not use third parties for recruitment, delivery or assessment.
You have 12 months to complete your assessment. As a guide, most participants spend several hours over one to three weeks per unit gathering evidence and answering knowledge questions. It can be quicker if your evidence is already organised, and slower if you need documents from employers or third parties.
In the event you are unable to complete the requirements within the 12 months, you may have the option to extend or re-enrol (conditions apply - see our RTO Schedule of Fees and Charges).
