There are no formal entry, licensing or certification requirements for BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management. Before you enrol, an AIMWA assessor will review your experience, skills and access to evidence to confirm whether RPL suits you.

Your RPL assessment has three parts. Together, they help your assessor confirm that you have the knowledge, practical capability and workplace evidence the qualification requires.
The example below shows how these three parts may work together for one assessment requirement.

Knowledge Questions |
Process Task |
Evidence Collection |
|
A. Describe four steps in the procurement process for acquiring physical resources. B. Describe four steps in the recruitment process for acquiring human resources. |
Using a real workplace example, provide an overview of how you analysed the resource requirements for a resource plan you developed. Explain the factors you considered when determining the types and quantities of resources required, and how you engaged with stakeholders to gather input and feedback on resource needs. |
Upload workplace evidence showing that you have developed or contributed to a resource plan. Your evidence must include the resource plan, details of how resources were planned for, acquired and allocated, and timelines showing how the resource plan aligned with business strategies. |
Working with confidential evidence. You can redact names, contact details and other identifying information, as long as the evidence still shows your work. Make sure you have permission to share workplace documents. If confidentiality rules stop you providing evidence, talk to us before you enrol so we can consider alternatives.
You complete your assessment online through our learner portal, at your own pace and around your work. Enrolments are rolling, so you can start once your enrolment is confirmed and you have portal access. Self-paced still takes discipline. Setting aside regular time will help you finish within your enrolment period.
Your assessor reviews your evidence and gives feedback or asks for more information as needed. You can submit evidence up to three times for each unit, and this is included in your assessment fee.
AIMWA (RTO Code 0058) offers this qualification directly. We do not use third parties for recruitment, delivery or assessment.
You have 12 months to complete your assessment. As a guide, most participants spend several hours over one to three weeks per unit gathering evidence and answering knowledge questions. It can be quicker if your evidence is already organised, and slower if you need documents from employers or third parties.
In the event you are unable to complete the requirements within the 12 months, you may have the option to extend or re-enrol (conditions apply - see our RTO Schedule of Fees and Charges).
