These units support eligibility requirements for WA mining statutory positions under the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022. Appointment to a statutory position is subject to regulator and employer requirements.
These units are via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) only, it does not include training and resources.
You will be assessed on the skills and knowledge you already possess through the completion of scenario-based activities, based on a simulated workplace as well as current workplace evidence.

RPL is perfect for those currently employed in the mining industry as a Statutory Supervisor or preparing to be appointed who do not need additional training or learning resources and can draw on their current skills and experience.

Self-paced via our online portal to offer a flexible approach that can fit around your personal and work commitments. It is important to stay self-motivated and study consistently to reach your goals within the enrolment timeframe.
You will complete scenario-based activities, using examples from your workplace. You are also required to supply workplace evidence and answer knowledge-based questions.

Enrolment in these units is for a period of three (3) months.
It is anticipated that completion of the RPL assessment tasks should take approximately three (3) days to complete (21 hours).
RPL is a self-paced process. The actual time you need depends on how readily you can access and organise evidence of your skills and experience completing knowledge questions. If your evidence is already organised, it may take less time; if you need to source documents from employers or third parties, it may take longer.
In the event you are unable to complete the requirements within the three (3) month enrolment period, you may have the option to extend or re-enrol (conditions apply - see our RTO Schedule of Fees and Charges).
The units you need to complete will be dependent on the Statutory Position you hold - as outlined in the Approved WHS risk management units provided by WorkSafe.
